Chelsea Old Town Hall | Eimear & Max
Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding Chelsea Town Hall is one of the London wedding venues, like Old Marylebone Town Hall, famous for its celebrity weddings. Stars like Judy Garland, Richard Burton, Hugh Grant, Bobby Moore, Pierce Brosnan and Marc Bolan, stood on these steps for the confetti. A wedding venue described by The Independent newspaper as ‘one of the hippest places to get married’. This time it was the Irish couple Eimaer and Max who chose Chelsea Town Hall to get married in. The wedding would remain local after the ceremony too. London Registrars It is a curious thing how…

Weddings in 2023
Weddings in 2023 – a busy few months The way wedding bookings fell for me in 2023 was rather intense. Over 90% were over just four months – it was a full-on period of shooting, processing, and delivering while managing a new addition to our family (see the end of this post). 2024 weddings are a bit more spread out across the year so far. While the bulk of the weddings were in Sussex and London, there were also weddings in Devon, Cheshire, Rutland, and Suffolk. From Country estates to village halls, a tiny, ancient chapel to grand University buildings.…

Music Room Brighton Pavilion | Andrea & James
Wedding ceremony in the Music Room The Music Room at Brighton Pavilion. I’ve shot weddings at Brighton Pavilion several times but this was the first ceremony in the Music Room. Usually, they have been in the Red Drawing Room. But the larger Music Room can only be used in the evenings, once the Pavilion has closed to the public. I arrived, in the rain, and was allowed in as they closed the doors to the public. They then escorted me to the kitchen – they assumed I was a waiter! Music Room Brighton Pavilion This room is described on the…

Old Thorns Hotel wedding | Chelsee & Gary
Old Thorns Hotel and Resort I have to admit that I had never heard of Old Thorns hotel near Liphook when Chelsee got in touch last May. I’ve not played golf in years. Pulling into the large car park there it is quite a sight. How I imagine these sort of golf/hotel resorts look like in North America. (I think Old Thorns now has Chinese owners. The estate was once owned by Ken Wood, inventor of the Kenwood food mixer). A different sort of wedding venue that I usually work at. Described in a newspaper review, “A resort hotel with…

South Farm wedding | Olivia & William
South Farm wedding South Farm, a country wedding venue on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire borders, was Olivia and Will’s choice for their midweek July wedding. The day before had been one of the hottest days in the UK for decades – I know, I was stuck in stationary traffic for over an hour on the M1 motorway (for no apparent reason). The heat, and the blue skies, eased off for the wedding day. Rather than overbearing heat, it was a pleasant, if overcast, summer’s day. The whole took place at South farm – a self-contained wedding venue ‘in the middle of nowhere’.…

Corfe Church wedding | Mary & Alex
Corfe Church Corfe church was meant to be the location for Mary and Alex’s wedding back in July 2020, but we all know what got in the way back then! So roll forward two years, to the same weekend in July in 2022, and they finally got married in Corfe church. This time there would be three of them, with their young daughter joining in with the wedding day. Coverage starts with bridal prep in local hotel Mortons Manor. That helped solve the parking solution for me with Corfe in the height of summer. The last time I shot a…
