My reportage wedding photography has earned several wedding photography awards.
Award-winning wedding photography. I have three times been voted Wedding Photographer of the Year (South-East) at The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA), where the scores and comments from couples count just as much as the voting from photography judges.
I’ve been the overall winner of Professional Photographer of the Year, beating photographers in categories as diverse as wildlife and fashion, with an image from a wedding. (see below) My images have also garnered multiple wedding photography awards from international associations and websites that focus on the unposed, reportage style of wedding photography.
Are these sorts of awards the be-all and end-all? Not really. The industry joke is that every wedding photographer is ‘award-winning’. Often with no evidence. A photographer’s eye is more important and how that gels with a client’s wish to have their wedding day captured. But if you look at this selection, as an extension of my portfolio, you will see particular reportage wedding photography images win multiple times. Do these sort of images look like the sort of images you would want to be captured on your own wedding day?
Do they capture the day? The moments, the people? Do they help form an impactful narrative of your wedding day? A storyboard of reportage wedding photography images to evoke memories for years to come.
You can see here a selection of some of my award-winning images in recent years, in various national and international wedding photography competitions.
