Smedmore House wedding | Becky & Steve
Smedmore House: when a wedding enquiry comes in that describes their planned wedding day as ‘looking for colourful photographs that capture people’s natural reactions, we do not want lots of posed photos or Instagram-esque filters in the editing!’ and says there will be a Maypole on the lawn, you hope the couple will book. AMP Studios wedding | Nikki & Phil
AMP Studios, just off the Old Kent Road in South-East London, is a unique London wedding venue. Essentially two railway arches and small, partially covered area in front. That’s it. Basic, urban, simple. It is also just a few minutes walk away from The Asylum Chapel – both owned by Maverick Projects – so a natural place to hold the wedding reception, after the Chapel ceremony. Worthing Dome wedding | Ali & Chris
Worthing Dome – a local landmark opposite the Pier. One of England’s oldest working cinemas, a Grade II listed Edwardian cinema, built in 1911. Originally called The Kursaal – German for ‘Cure Hall’ – it housed a health centre and entertainment complex, including the electric cinema. The German-sounding name was dropped during WWI, being renamed The Dome after the three-storey tower that gives it such a distinctive look and where the wedding ceremony was held, on the top floor. Hook Norton Brewery in Oxfordshire and the location for a wedding in February sunshine. A sunny winter wedding for Louisa and Andrew. Like most of my weddings, a wedding that has a link to a previous wedding. I photographed the wedding of Louisa’s brother, back in 2014. Another sunny wedding day but a touch warmer. Twenty Years of digital wedding photography
Digital wedding photography began for me twenty years ago. July 2022 will be the twentieth anniversary of the first wedding I shot with digital cameras. All because the couple wanted their wedding shot completely in black and white. Every wedding I had covered up to this point had been with 35mm film cameras, namely the wonderful Nikon F5. One of the best cameras I’ve ever owned. Each wedding was shot with one camera loaded with colour film and the other with B&W. Southover Grange in Lewes would be the ceremony venue for this winter wedding for Laura and James. The wedding reception was in a local pub a short walkaway. But coverage starts down the Sussex coast, in Ferring. Here Laura got ready at her parents’ home. Just her and her parents, no bridesmaids, no flowergirls.
