  • Wedding photography in 2011 at The Elvetham Hotel

My wedding photography year in 2011.

Wedding photography in 2011 A last post for the year, my wedding photography in 2011. An interesting year for many reasons. For one, this new website (and new domain name) is now twelve months old but is still frankly a work in progress – some tweaks to come in the New Year. (Any constructive suggestions welcome!) And I should blog more I know……so what else for the past year? Outside of wedding photography, it has been a year of portraits. Mostly for American business magazines and Corporate design agencies – on the whole of very wealthy businessmen, lawyers and hedge…

  • Burford Bridge Hotel wedding

Burford Bridge Hotel | Surrey Wedding Photography

Burford Bridge hotel wedding photography A few hours after the party in Mickelham, just down the road at the bottom of Box Hill – after a late finish and for some, a morning game of rugby, the wedding day itself for Seb and Vicky. Held at Burford Bridge Hotel near Dorking in Surrey. A location that is famous being where Lord Horatio Nelson secretly met with Emma Hamilton prior to his demise at The Battle of Trafalgar. The hotel, being positioned on the road between London and the coast (the Old London Road, we call it the A24 now) started…

A Hove wedding at The Claremont Hotel | Katherine & Jack

Hove wedding photography A Hove wedding, a Sussex wedding by the coast. A small winter wedding, on a memorable date.  The groom, Jack, mentioned it in his speech, but getting married on “Remember, remember the fifth of November” will certainly help when it comes to remembering the wedding anniversary date in years to come. Katherine and Jack were married in a small and intimate ceremony at the luxury boutique hotel The Claremont, just yards from the seafront in Hove, Sussex. The weather forecast had looked dreadful in the week leading up to the day with heavy rain predicted. As it…

Peasant pub wedding – Mary & Lewis

Reportage wedding photography at a Peasant pub wedding This Saturday saw Mary and Lewis’s London wedding. With preparations at their home in E14, it was a taxi ride to the ceremony in the council chamber of Hackney Town Hall and check out the light in there! Light like that is a gift if it falls in the right place and it did. So after exquisite singing from one of their friends it was off on a mini tour of London in two Red Routemaster buses, with provisions of champagne and welsh cake. How the buses did it I don’t know,…

  • Confetti at Nutfield Priory hotel

Nutfield Priory Hotel wedding – Anya & Mikey

Nutfield Priory Hotel wedding photography Anya and Mikey’s wedding at Nutfield Priory Hotel, a neo-Gothic Victorian mansion near Redhill in Surrey. This was a wedding from start to finish at Nutfield Priory. From bridal prep, to Mike waiting in the ceremony room. From the ceremony to drinks inside (not the best weather day). A few quick portraits in the grounds – a small copse of trees near the entrance to the confetti run outside the main entrance to the hotel. Some confetti for their young son, Leo, too. Dinner, speeches and a ceilidh to finish. Their son Leo didn’t get…

  • Ockenden Manor wedding

Ockenden Manor Wedding | Sussex Wedding Photography

Ockenden Manor wedding photography Ockenden Manor, an Elizabethan manor house in Cuckfield, West Sussex and now a luxury hotel and spa – the venue for two wedding ceremonies. One inside, one outside – thanks to the weather. A matter of days after their marriage in South Korea, Phoebe ( Seunghui Chai ) and Andrew held a humanist ceremony, to mark their marriage, with family and close friends at Ockenden Manor.Grade II listed and dating from 1520 – Ockenden is how you imagine a luxury hotel, in such an old building, should be. Wood-panelled rooms, log fires, old paintings and nine…

  • Tythe Barn wedding

    Tythe Barn wedding

Tythe Barn wedding A Tythe Barn wedding. The luxuriously renovated Tythe Barn near Bicester in Oxfordshire, under largely glorious blue skies. What is a Tythe or Tithe Barn? From the Middle Ages, they were where produce was stored, with a percentage going to the landlord in payment, usually The Church. This barn is part of a family farm dating back to the fourteenth century. It has been used as a home for lambing ewes in the spring, harvesting grain in the summer and as a home to cattle in the winter. Now it hosts weddings. The use of old barns…

  • Inner Temple wedding – Caroline & David

Inner Temple wedding An Inner Temple wedding with a ceremony at the OBE chapel – a very English, very London wedding. As was the weather… It’s July, but somehow Mother Nature forgot this and skipped summer to offer up a more autumnal day of heavy downpours with the odd few moments of sunshine. Coverage begins (once the porter finally let me in from the heavy rain) at Inner Temple. Caroline got ready with her bridesmaids and family in the biggest bridal prep room I’ve ever seen. The rain clattered against the windows. This rain meant umbrellas and very slippery steps…
