Tythe Barn wedding

Tythe Barn wedding
A Tythe Barn wedding. The luxuriously renovated Tythe Barn near Bicester in Oxfordshire, under largely glorious blue skies. What is a Tythe or Tithe Barn? From the Middle Ages, they were where produce was stored, with a percentage going to the landlord in payment, usually The Church. This barn is part of a family farm dating back to the fourteenth century. It has been used as a home for lambing ewes in the spring, harvesting grain in the summer and as a home to cattle in the winter. Now it hosts weddings. The use of old barns in UK weddings has grown and grown in recent years.
They aren’t always buildings flooded with light but they have character. The option of using the big doorway, for the ceremony, as here, is a good one. If the weather plays ball. It did on this August day.
Here are a few images…
(but none of the wasp that stung me midway through the wedding reception…first sting in twenty odd years…my elbow hurt you know!)

Beautiful, tranquil and emotive – I love the canopy of trees, the groom biting his nails, the gorgeous bride wearing her heart on her sleeve. My favourite picture is the lady guest taking a photo, in a blue hat and looking at her camera with a big smile – it just looks so special. This one’s all about the guests and I think it’s amazing.

These are wonderful photos, we cannot thank you enough.
They have captured our day, the mood, the happiness perfectly. They very much tell the story of the day.
You were great to work with and really put us at ease. We were both quite nervous prior to meeting you.
All of our friends and family who have seen the photos also agree these are stunning. We would strongly recommend you to any couples planning to get married.
Many Thanks
Mark & Gail
