One Aldwych wedding photography
A small One Aldwych wedding for a couple who came back from San Francisco to get married in London. Lena and Chris’s wedding was a perfect example of how a wedding does not need hundreds of guests and many ‘traditions’. A small group of family and close friends, some good food and wine and a relaxed but elegant way to get married and celebrate with those dear to you.
There was a hiccup that added to the stress of the morning ( this was a ceremony at midday) – a replacement passport that did not arrive in time, which scattered the honeymoon plans.
Coverage started at The Hoxton in High Holborn, where Lena was getting ready in the nail salon with her mother and sister. A short walk down The Kingsway and to the luxury hotel, One Aldwych, where the wedding ceremony was to take place.
(Like many hotels, especially in London, the ceremony rooms tend not to be very well lit. They often depend upon small downlighters in the ceiling – a very unflattering light when above a couple getting married. The window light is negligible, the windows there are set very low. Quite why all these hotels don’t address this is a mystery to me? Luckily Chris understood and moved the direction of the lights a little. It makes a difference!)
Just look at the way Lena looks at Chris – that’s what a wedding is all about. Those feelings a couple have for each other. This is a couple who met at a wedding.
The planned walk back up The Kingsway, became a short taxi ride, due to an unexpected rain shower. Champagne and then the wedding meal in The Apartment at the Hoxton. It was then another taxi ride (I walked) across to Clerkenwell and The Green pub. More relaxed time with family and friends.
A small, relaxed, London wedding, for a couple very clearly in love.
