Oak Barn wedding | Chloe & Nick
An end-of-summer wedding at Oak Barn in Kent
Oak Barn, at Frame Farm in Kent, is a relatively new wedding venue. You can tell, it’s immaculate. The owners, Tim and Deana, have invested a lot of money, thought, care and effort into renovating a collection of old barns (see here), to create a very neat and effective venue. Grouped around a traditional farmyard, just outside the village of Benenden, in The Weald countryside, it’s a venue that can only grow in charm.
Chloe and Nick chose this new wedding venue, a place to get married and celebrate with family and friends, many coming around the globe, from Nick’s native New Zealand. The weather, at the end of August played along too, sunny and pleasantly warm. Some rain came later but as you can see above, it was brief and the sun appeared for one last go before nightfall. Cue, a picture in the field, before the dancing.
A wedding at Oak Barn
Coverage kicks off in The Weaver’s Cottages – with Chloe getting ready. Nick arrived a bit late but was ready in the Byre for the ceremony to start on time. Chloe made her way across the farmyard with her father and bridesmaids. Ceremony complete ( and I loved how they didn’t take the ‘posed up’ signing of the register – that registrars still insist upon – too seriously) it was out into the sunshine for drinks on the terrace, next to the fields.
The weather was turning a bit, by the time everyone headed in for the meal. A nice touch – a shot of drink, in honour of a close friend, recently deceased. Some speeches – one forgot her own name (guess which pic!), then a brief bit of evening sunlight – for a picture in the field. Time then to dance!
