A local church ceremony first...
A Kingdom wedding but Lucy and Gareth got married first in their local village church, St Denys' church in Rotherfield. It's a church I've been too before. It has some handy old pubs very nearby. That is where the coverage starts. Not Lucy having her hair and makeup done, but Gareth enjoying a pint (or two) with his groomsmen, family and friends at The Kings Arms. A short stroll later and they were outside the church to greet the rest of the wedding guests - more family and friends.
Lucy arrived with her father in a vintage wedding car, a smile outside the church door and then down the church aisle, watched by a very emotional groom. Ceremony done, confetti run ...run and off to Kingdom.
Kingdom Wedding
A short journey across the East Sussex/Kent countryside, to Kingdom, a wedding venue with a view! Kingdom is a sustainable cycling café and venue in Kent, set on a hill overlooking the countryside near Penshurst. The club house is very unique, four floors of wood and glass with an open air roof deck perfect for the drinks reception at a wedding. Dinner is the floor down. Dancing the floor below that - although the dance floor is tiny and interspersed with wooden columns. Not easy to do a big first dance in but good for intimate crowded party dancing.
But overall it's a venue that favours a relaxed wedding reception. Lucy had talked about doing a few family group shots but decided against this once everyone was on the rooftop drinking - she didn't want to ruin the vibe and preferred the reportage images. It's a very fingers crossed the weather stays dry sort of place, but if it does, a Kingdom wedding has a nice atmosphere about it. Plus what a spot for the wedding bouquet throw!
Here are a few images from the day...

"Thank you so much for the photos, we are so chuffed. You really captured us and our relationship so perfectly." - Lucy
