Corfe Church wedding | Mary & Alex
Corfe Church
Corfe church was meant to be the location for Mary and Alex’s wedding back in July 2020, but we all know what got in the way back then! So roll forward two years, to the same weekend in July in 2022, and they finally got married in Corfe church. This time there would be three of them, with their young daughter joining in with the wedding day.
Coverage starts with bridal prep in local hotel Mortons Manor. That helped solve the parking solution for me with Corfe in the height of summer. The last time I shot a wedding in the village, the vicar had offered me his driveway, just a short walk away. Just down the road, in the center of the village, Alex and his groomsmen were having a pint outside The Greyhound Inn.
At the start of the ceremony, Alex stood at the end of the aisle with his daughter, to welcome Mary and her father into the church. A ceremony finished, a confetti lineup outside, as tourists watched on. Then off to the wedding reception down the road.
The wedding reception was held in and around a large marquee set up in the corner of a Dorset field, part of the farm owned by Mary’s uncle. Blocks of hay bales, bunting and decorated tractor tyres, with a fantastic view across the surrounding Dorset countryside, the Jurassic Coast just beyound the rolling hills. (Also just next to the British Army shooting ranges, but no sounds of gunfire)
Drinks in and out of the tent and a brief visit from their dog too, who wasn’t too sure about the big crowd. Then dinner with speeches and cake cutting before the dance floor got very crowded and buzzing. The party was still in full swing as I left to head back to Sussex.
Here are a few images from this day in Corfe…
