Wedding at Brighton Bandstand 2020 weddings. A wedding in August, at the Brighton bandstand. It had originally had been scheduled for June, at another unique wedding venue, The Asylum Chapel in South London, but then Covid-19 appeared. This was a short coverage gig, just two hours, although it did spill over into almost three in the end. But this was a wedding flying in the face of both Covid-19 and cancer. Post-Lockdown weddings…welcome to 2020! It goes without saying that getting married in 2020 has not been easy. For over three months, once the lockdown began in late March in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, weddings were effectively banned. The restrictions only eased slightly on July 4 – no more than 30 people, social distancing measures in place, no music, no hymns, etc. No wedding receptions even – no dancing!! Getting to the wedding reception Not quite planes, trains and automobiles…but getting from A to B to C at weddings can vary a fair bit. Looking back at the last three years and the weddings that I have covered, there has been a 50:50 split, as to whether the wedding reception is held at the same venue as the ceremony or somewhere different. Brighton College wedding photography Brighton College, an independent co-educational boarding and day school, in the Kemptown area of Brighton. The location for this wedding and the groom’s old school (this may explain the trouser dropping later…). Founded in 1845, the original idea had been to house the school in the Old Pavilion in Brighton but Queen Victoria said ‘no!’. Reportage wedding photography at the Square Tower and Boathouse 4 A Portsmouth wedding. A ceremony at the Square Tower for Southsea locals, Nancy and Dan. The tower is on the waterfront in Old Portsmouth and is among the earliest stone fortifications built in the naval city. Together with the Round Tower, the adjacent sea-wall and the Saluting Platform are the only parts of the Tudor works to survive.
