Anna’s Garden Parties

A new wedding venue in Chobham, Surrey, perfect for hosting relaxed festival or woodland-style wedding days. Anna’s Garden Parties, also known as Greener Grass Days, is a large area of garden and woodland space located near the centre of the village. It’s very private. As they say on one of their websites, this is a ‘secret garden party hire’. Located very centrally in this affluent part of Surrey Heath, just north of Woking, you would not know it was there if you were travelling along the adjacent High Street. Just a subtle wooden door in the high stone wall leads you through a small patch of woodland and into the garden itself. (I must admit I wasn’t sure where it was when I arrived early!) Parking is opposite, in the village car park. Run by Anna, with a background in Hospitality, who cleared a large area of the disused garden to create a space to host corporate events, birthday parties and now weddings. I believe that 2025 was the first year of weddings for this venue.

Celebrant led wedding ceremony

Annabel and Grace had already done the legal part, so this wedding ceremony, with just very close family, was led by Surrey celebrant Tracy from Knight Ceremonies. Their fathers walked them down the very short aisle, just eight chairs for family witnessing. A ceremony in the September sunshine. A dash of confetti after, and fairly soon, other family and friends arrived for the wedding reception. What this venue has is space, while still feeling very intimate. A small bar and a small dancefloor, an open pagoda with a long table and chairs. Fire pit areas for the evening. Resident ducks that would casually trot around the wedding guests. An area for games, such as Badminton and the added visit of a Shetland Pony – a big hit with the children present.

Keeping with the chilled theme of this wedding day, the food was an extensive barbecue. By evening, it was a choice of sitting around the fire pit chatting or joining in with the dancing next to the bar. Some guests danced out on the lawn. 10 pm and a sparkler send off for Annabel & Grace, as a VW camper van took them off to start their honeymoon. A new wedding venue in Surrey that lets couples create a friendly, intimate wedding day. A relaxed day.
