Old Greens Barn Wedding | Jeny & Scott
Old Greens Barn wedding photography
Jeny & Scott had planned a simple wedding with family and friends. No traditional aspects like ushers, bridesmaids, best men or even lengthy speeches – they were looking for a good ‘summer’s party’ instead. The question was would the June weather play along? The reception venue, Old Greens Barn is just down the road from me and relatively new. A Surrey Barn wedding.
Leatherhead Registry Office
Coverage began just up the A24 with a quick ceremony at The Mansion, the registry office in Leatherhead before being followed by a barn reception at a relatively new wedding venue – The Old Greens Barn, near Newdigate in Surrey. Confetti, hugs and pictures on the lawn, before everyone headed south to the wedding reception just outside Newdigate village.
Surrey Barn wedding venue – Old Greens Barn
Old Greens Barn, part of the Newdigate Estate is a deliberately blank canvas upon which couples can create their own authentic, rustic festival-style wedding environment. You even bring your own chairs. Plus you are free to hire your own suppliers. A quiet location on a farm dating back to the thirteenth century, besides a lake, within 200 acres of quiet farmland. Its position near the Surrey/Sussex county border means it’s a well-placed reception venue for weddings in either county. In many ways, it is very like the Secret Barn in Sussex, just next to the South Downs. As you can see from this wedding there, it gives couples the chance to create their own atmosphere for there reception. It means a more informal style of party is possible, without the rules or maybe restrictions that some big hotels or wedding venues impose. If you are looking for a chic, rustic, relaxed style of afternoon/evening, with the emphasis on good food, drink and close friends, these barn venues are a good bet. Most the charm is already there in the old buildings. A bit of bunting and off you go!
