A local church wedding in Sussex
A local church wedding in Fishbourne, West Sussex. Local because the tiny St Peter & St Mary church is just around the corner from Tori’s parents’ house in the village. Fishbourne sits just a couple of miles west of Chichester. The A27 bypass slices through between them and right next to probably Fishbourne’s biggest claim to fame – the remains of a massive and luxurious Roman Palace. (A school trip venue for many Sussex schoolchildren, it is the largest known Roman residence north of the Alps). Did they hold weddings there back in the second century AD?
Tori got ready at her parent’s house before a short drive across to the church. (It’s a church incidentally with a car park, so good for wedding photographers and wedding guests alike!) Joe had been checking on the marquee, erected on the grounds of the adjoining church hall, and greeting guests in the churchyard. The ceremony began and it wasn’t long before their young son decided he needed to join in too.
relaxed wedding reception
After the confetti outside the church, a very short walk to the gardens next to the Church hall for the wedding reception. Drinks, music and games. Then dinner, cake and speeches, long tables, lots of bunting and lots of flowers – a very natural and relaxed DIY wedding. Wedding guests then helped clear and move some of the tables and the dancing could begin. It was very quickly a very crowded dance floor!

“WOW!
I’ve just spent the last 45 minutes looking through these – they are fantastic!! Such beautiful shots that really take me back!!
It’s so nice to see all the bits we weren’t there for – conversations between friends that didn’t know each other before, seeing old family reunite, the bean bag on the marquee roof really made me smile, all so lovely.”

A lot of smiles in this wedding! You managed to capture all that emotions, great job!
