Hedsor wedding – Siân & Lawrence

Hedsor wedding Photography
Hedsor, overlooking the Thames Valley, was the location for Siân and Lawrence’s wedding last weekend. A ‘winter wonderland’ theme for the wedding but on the day, the actual weather was unseasonably mild, as much of December has been so far this year. The sun didn’t come out but it at least stayed dry. The ceremony would be in the small 12th-century church, St Nicholas’, perched high above the valley. Appropriate for December – St Nicholas being the Bishop of Myra in Lycia… well, the inspiration for Santa Claus, it is said. It’s that time of year!
Siân got ready not far away, at her parent’s home, next to where she and Lawrence live too. Back outside the church, her grandfather earned his pint of Guinness helping a car stuck in the mud in the car park. A quiet spot on top of the hill for a church, where once a pagan temple may have stood near the Roman road. Just the whirring noise of the videographer’s drone, like an angry lawnmower, as it buzzed and swooped over the heads of the arriving wedding guests.
The marriage ceremony complete – Siân was so keen, she was ahead of the vicar with the vows! Then back to the house, where one of Siân’s horses, Grace, was waiting to greet the couple and wedding guests. Inside the vast marquee on the lawn, a lot of work had gone into the winter wonderland look. Drinks inside and outside – it was that mild. Day turned to night. Before the meal, the speeches.
The top table was cleared, the dry ice machine fired up, the curtain raised. It was then for the truly charismatic Earth Lights boogie band, to get the dancing going!! And they went for it! One of the very best wedding bands I’ve seen.
A very nice winter wedding…here are a few images from this Hedsor wedding day…
