Braxted Park was the venue for Bank Holiday Monday’s wedding. Eleanor and Daniel had chosen a location very close to their own home. With bridal preparations and the wedding reception taking place at Braxted Park, the wedding ceremony itself was at St Mary the Virgin church, in the nearby village of Kelvedon.
They had chosen a Spring wedding but don’t be fooled by the sunshine you’ll see in these images – it was freezing!
Nature was playing it’s own April Fool’s joke as a biting arctic wind sent the temperature dropping to mid-winter like levels. Even the daffodils stayed in hiding. A wind that played havoc with the vicar’s attire, the bride’s dress and hair and then delivered a coup de grace in Braxted Park’s walled garden, by sending the bride’s veil into the fountain ( cue a gallant best man ) But top marks to Eleanor especially. She kept smiling, even through the bride and groom portraits, as the sun set and the temperature plummeted.
But while the wind howled around the pavilion, Eleanor and Daniel were surrounded by the warmth of their family and friends, celebrating a great day. ( Sounds cheesy that bit doesn’t it? 😉 But some cliches are true, have a look below! )
Here are a few images from the day….
( The last wedding I shot at Braxted Park, it was a baking hot day, almost too hot – balance has been restored, temperature wise! )
