Slindon | Christina & James

Slindon House wedding day
A wedding day at Slindon House, a Sussex wedding venue near Arundel with views of the coast. Ceremony, reception, meal and dancing, all at Slindon House. A flint-walled (it is Sussex!) country house that serves as a school when not hosting weddings.
Coverage kicked off without any bridal prep but with the Groom, James, greeting wedding guests on ‘the terrace with a view’. No bridal prep to shoot. Christina had decided not to start the coverage with that. Many brides don’t. The narrative can easily start prior to the ceremony without covering the bridal prep. Especially as there is often still some last-minute prep to happen. One of my favourite images from the day is Christina applying a bit more lipstick before she enters through the door (just behind me) and into The Blue Room for the wedding ceremony. A ceremony in the more than capable hands of the local Sussex celebrant, Emma.
Ceremony complete, Christina and James left the Blue Room, and the wedding guests made their way onto the lawns to line up for the confetti run. Another documentary wedding image I like, as James looks at his wife. Confetti and then drinks, canapés and games on the terrace and lawns at Slindon.
Dinner in the Grand Hall and some emotional speeches, especially for James. Then a visit to see the donkeys, as the room was turned around for the dancing. With a photo-bomb from the groom!
